BIRD PARROTS Pale Headed Rosella Eastern Rosella Birds Eucalyptus Tree Butterflies Australia Parrot

"Gabby and Sophie in Eucalyptus Tree"
16x12 inches / oil on panel
SOLD
Two of Carol's girls are shown here in a Eucalyptus tree along with two different butterflies, a couple of beetles, some flower bud clusters, nuts and one spidery flower in bloom.  Gabby (top right) is a pale headed Rosella and Sophie (lower left) is an Eastern Rosella.  It was such a joy creating this painting and of particular delight was recalling some of Carol's stories of the girls being a bit tempermental with feathers flying or more adorable, how she watches bits of torn newspaper being carried into the closet during nest building!  Whenever I create a portrait I always wish I could actually meet the subjects of my paintings...but as I paint I almost feel as though I've known them!

My Rosellas are extremely thrilled that they now have their own portrait! Now the other three, Samantha, Tiger Lily, and Lucy all want their own portraits--which we're planning to do as soon as they are willing to pose for some decent photos! We (the Rosellas and I) and thrilled to have this very lovely painting--and we love the butterflies and beetles. They are in the grand tradition of natural history art and of the best of Victorian era pet portraits. Thank you Jeanne!!!

Thank you SOOO much, Carol, for your lovely compliments! I'm thrilled to have had the opportunity to paint your truly magnificent Rosella girls! It was such fun thinking about their antics while painting, I almost feel as if I know them! I'm sure now that Gabby and Sophie are sharing the spotlight, their sisters will be jealous! Can't wait to become acquainted with Samantha, Tiger Lily and Lucy, too! I wanted to surprise you by tucking a few insects in after you'd mentioned in passing that you like the Victorian era and natural history art, a style for which I, too, share a fondness. It was a sheer delight creating this painting for you! Thank you so much! Best, Jeanne

Hello Jeanne,
You are amazing! The Rosella bird painting, like all your other paintings, is simply stunning.

Thank you SO much, Anyes! It was a joy to create these two portraits, as it has been with all the animals with who I become acquainted through my work. Knowing how we all value our little ones and dote upon them with such love, so I really try to add an extra sensitivity to the paintings in the hope of capturing their unique posture, expression, etc. hence my motto, "Painted with Love". Thank you for your lovely comments! Jeanne
